Harsh winds and

winter teach

that life is not always rainbows

and roses

but when sunny summer

springs

it's daffodils and colour

how can one begin

to

forget

the memory of love

that has gone beyond reach

does the subtle and

piercing sorrow

of winter love not

leave its

mark even when

the new season

comes?

Yichielle Gigi Devendra lives in Waterloo Ontario. She loves writing poetry. She is of South Asian heritage. This poem is about the memory of an attachment and it is in some way connected to the changing of the seasons.
